The Aetna/NCEMNA Scholars Program is one of three
current initiatives sponsored by NCEMNA. Funding for the Scholars Program is provided by an Aetna
grant, based upon the submission of a proposal and request for financial support by NCEMNA.
NCEMNA also receives funds from the National Institute
of Health (NIH) for the Nurse Scientist Stimulation Project. This program seeks to address disparities by increasing the number
of ethnic minority nurse researchers initiating, and by conducting, and maintaining programs of research by offering supplemental
training/educational opportunities.
